RGPS Golden Expedition Returns to San Diego: $150,000 Main Event to Take Place at Jamul Casino

RunGood Poker Series returns to San Diego with the Golden Expedition festival at Jamul Casino. From November 17 to 22, players can look forward to 12 ring events, bounty tournaments, a team event, and the series’ Main Event: a $600 tournament with a $150,000 guarantee.

Details

The six-day festival will bring players with a range of bankrolls and format preferences to the poker tables at Jamul Casino. The schedule includes tournaments for players looking for shorter sessions, bounty events, Pot-Limit Omaha, Monster Stack, and a major Main Event with three starting flights.

The first ring events start on Tuesday, November 17. The $200 Seniors Ring Event, with a $7,500 guarantee, begins at 10:00, followed by the $200 Series Opener Ring Event, with a $5,000 guarantee, at 13:00. The evening schedule begins at 19:00 with the $200 Ambassador Bounty Ring Event, which has a $10,000 guarantee.

Ambassador Bounty will be one of the festival’s most unusual tournaments. Special guests will receive envelopes containing additional prizes. They may hold $1,000 in cash or RunGood merchandise credits. This format adds an extra hunt: players compete for the tournament prize pool and try to knock out an ambassador to claim a special reward.

On Wednesday, November 18, the schedule features the $300 PokerNews PowerStack with a $25,000 guarantee. The tournament has two starting flights: the first begins at 11:00 and the second at 18:00. The final portion is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, at 12:00. That same day, the $300 One-Day NLH Ring Event, with a $10,000 guarantee, will also take place.

Another Thursday highlight is the $300 Tag Team Double Ring Event. The buy-in is $150 per player, and the winners will take home two rings. The event has a $5,000 guarantee. The team format will add a tactical element to the festival, as players will need to manage their time at the table and adapt to their partner’s decisions.

The series’ flagship event starts on Friday, November 20, at 18:00. The $600 Main Event buy-in gives players three chances to make it through a starting flight and build a stack for the final. The second flight takes place on Saturday, November 21, at 11:00, and the third at 18:00 that same day.

All players who survive their starting flight will return to the tables on Sunday, November 22, at 12:00. The Main Event finale takes place that day, with players competing for a $150,000 guarantee. PokerNews live reporting will be available for the decisive stage.

Organizers have prepared several ways to qualify for the Main Event for less than the full buy-in. Satellites begin before the festival. On Tuesday, November 10, at 16:00, the $85 Main Event Satellite will award two guaranteed seats. The same tournament will run on November 11 and 12, also with two seats guaranteed.

Higher-priced $145 satellites are scheduled for November 13 at 18:00 and November 14 at 16:00. Each guarantees five seats in the Main Event. Additional qualifiers will run during the festival, with $145 satellites on November 18, 19, 20, and 21.

Friday’s schedule, in addition to the first Main Event flight, includes the $200 Double Green Chip Bounty Ring Event. On Saturday, players can choose between two Main Event starting flights and other series formats. On Sunday, before the Main Event finale, the $200 Monster Stack Ring Event will run with a $5,000 guarantee, followed by the $300 Black Chip Bounty Ring Event, with a $10,000 guarantee, after the final day begins.

What’s next

The first Golden Expedition stop in San Diego kicks off with satellites on November 10. Players will have five early opportunities to win a Main Event seat through $85 or $145 satellites, followed by additional qualifiers at Jamul Casino.

The festival’s main schedule begins on November 17 with the Seniors Ring Event, Series Opener, and Ambassador Bounty. By midweek, PowerStack and team event players will join the action, before attention turns to the festival’s top prize pool.

The series’ grand finale is the $600 Main Event with a $150,000 guarantee. Three starting flights offer players a choice of when to play, and those who survive will continue the battle on November 22. The parallel schedule of bounty events, Omaha, Monster Stack, and One-Day NLH tournaments will give players a chance to compete at Jamul Casino throughout the festival, even if their Main Event title run ends early.
