In addition to cash prizes, players will compete for RGPS rings and points in the PokerNews PowerStack season-long competition.
Details
Before the festival officially gets underway, two $125 satellites for an Ultimate Package are scheduled for Monday, November 9, at 11:15 and 19:10. The main schedule begins on Tuesday, November 10, with the $250 Seniors Ring Event for players aged 50 and older, the $250 Series Opener Ring Event, and the $200 Tag Team Double Ring Event, which has a $100 buy-in per player. That day will also see the $120 Flip & Go Ring Event Day 1A get underway in On Demand format.
On Wednesday, November 11, the $250 PokerNews PowerStack Ring Event will have two starting flights: Flight A at 12:00 and Flight B at 18:00. The event has a $50 000 guarantee, and its final stage will take place on Thursday, November 12. Wednesday’s schedule also includes the $200 Five-Card PLO Ring Event and Flip & Go Day 1B.
Thursday’s schedule continues with the PokerNews PowerStack final, the $300 One Day NLH Ring Event, the $125 Bank Roll Builder, and the $250 Big Bet Bounty Ring Event. In the latter, players will receive $400 bounties once they reach the money. Flip & Go Day 1C is also scheduled for November 12.
On Friday, November 13, the schedule includes the Flip & Go Ring Event Day 2 Finals, the $300 Pot-Limit Omaha Ring Event, the $300 Ladies Ring Event, and a $145 Turbo Main Event Satellite. Flight A of the $600 Main Event, with its $200 000 guarantee, begins at 18:00. Players looking to qualify for the Main Event without entering directly can also play $65 Flip & Go satellites for 10-seat tables or $130 satellites for five-seat tables.
Two additional $145 Main Event satellites are scheduled for Saturday, November 14, at 9:00 and 15:00. Flight B of the Main Event starts at 11:00, followed by Flight C at 18:00. $65 and $130 Flip & Go satellites will also run that day. The festival wraps up on Sunday, November 15, with the $200 Turbo NLH Ring Event, the Main Event final at 12:00, and the $400 Black Chip Bounty Ring Event at 13:00.
RGPS last visited Horseshoe Tunica in March for RGPS Passport Tunica. The $600 Main Event drew 495 entries, creating a $252 450 prize pool. Tennessee’s William Latta took the title, earning an RGPS ring and $49 110. He beat Kyle Cartwright heads-up.
For Latta, the win was the culmination of more than 20 years of trying to win a major poker tournament. He had previously reached several Main Event final tables at Horseshoe Tunica, but had never won an RGPS ring. “There are a lot of people in this poker room with these rings, so it had become a bit of a sore spot for me. I’m glad I finally got it out of the way,” Latta told PokerNews. He balances poker with a job in the steel industry and family life, and described the game as a hobby: “For me, it’s just a hobby, so it’s nice to finally get one.”
Organizers expect the November Main Event to follow the same format, with three starting flights on November 13 and 14. Surviving players will then return for the final table and Day 2 on Sunday, November 15. PokerNews will be on site covering the event, so readers can follow chip counts, key hands, eliminations, and the crowning of the winner.
The PokerNews PowerStack is another event to watch. The previous edition in Tunica drew 452 entries and generated a $90 400 prize pool. Cody Stanford won the event, beating Tony Wofford heads-up to claim $18 067 and an RGPS ring. The November event features two starting flights on November 11, with the final taking place the following day.
PowerStack points are awarded at designated events throughout the RGPS Fall Season. The top 10 players on the leaderboard will receive packages to Thunder Valley, including entry to the exclusive $300 Dream Seat Invitational at the RunGood Dream Factory Festival, running from November 27 to December 3. The winner of the Invitational will earn a seat in the PGT Championship at PokerGO Studio in January 2027.
After 10 stops in the Golden Expedition season, Jesse Stephens and Derek Kerns are tied for first with 70 points. Shannon Lee is third with 65 points. They are followed by Peter Brooks with 60, Rayz Rayl with 55, Charlie Dawson with 55, Michael Kennedy with 55, Phong Nguyen with 55, David Burke with 55, and Grant Hinkle with 51.7.
